Application of Rouse / Chamberlin, LTD (Updated August 2)

At the August Work Session of the Board of Supervisors the Board voted to deny a conditional use pursuant to Section 399.39B(6).  The Board also voted to deny a modification of Section 399-41B(9) relating to the maximum front yard/build to line.  The Board did not object to the use of the property for multifamily development but did object to the design and layout of the multifamily dwellings as depicted on the amended plan.

The East Brandywine Township Board of Supervisors has concluded the Conditional Use Hearing associated with the application of Rouse/Chamberlin, LTD.  The hearing was held over the course of three days: June 7, March 15, and May 9.  Video of these three meetings (consisting of five total videos) has been migrated from the CivicMedia portion of this webpage to YouTube due to the length of the videos.

Original Meeting Notice

NOTICE is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of East Brandywine Township will hold a public hearing at a special meeting to be held on March 15, 2018, commencing at 7:00 PM at the Township building located at 1214 Horseshoe Pike, Downingtown, PA to consider the application of Rouse/ Chamberlin, LTD for conditional use approval pursuant to Section 399– 39.B(6) and the standards set forth in Section 399–41.B of the East Brandywine Township Code to develop the property located at 1163 Horseshoe Pike (also referred to as Chester County Tax Parcel No. 30-5-323) with a 15 lot multifamily dwelling development under the TND-1 Traditional Neighborhood Design District requirements. Applicant also requests the Board of Supervisors to modify the requirement in Section 399– 41.B(9) to the extent necessary pursuant to the authority in Section 399– 137.C(7) of the Code.

The application and all accompanying documents submitted with the application may be examined at the Township building during normal business hours.
